A few days ago I found my 8 year old boy sitting up in a tree branch resting… minutes later when he came down I noticed that he was holding his hand in a bit of pain. When I asked him if he had fallen off the tree he quickly said no and then…I got this story: Mom, how come when I pray God doesn’t answer my prayers? I pray and I pray for Him to give me super powers- super strength. I was up in the tree asking him for Super Strength, but then when I got off of the tree and I tried to lift up your Suburban, the prayers didn’t work! That is when I hurt my hand….Mom, why doesn’t God give me super powers?! 😉 I love that kid…
We are children of the Most High, He created us in his own image…these feelings of strength and the excitement of becoming a super hero are in us for a reason, for great purpose, they are part of what fuels our faith.~ My son, you are a warrior for King Jesus… embrace the POWER!~
The simple fact that you can think of this amazement of strength shows how intrinsically this power LIVES in you. He smiles….
2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us POWER, love and self-discipline.
Matthew 19:13-15 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Jesus expressed the hearts of children as to have the key to HIS kingdom. Santi showed me great insight into Jesus’ words on that tree branch morning. ~What the world of adults might consider silly or ridiculous- (even as believers of Jesus Christ)- children bring to life in a way that we often forget when we grow up. Their faith is limitless. They live in the moment. They believe BIG.
As adults…well, life and life’s disappointments tend to erode our perception. Our Father in Heaven, the Almighty, all powerful Son of God are HUGE words! Yet, we hear them so often that we can loose sight of their Power. I don’t want to stop believing with the faith of a child. Be-living. Every day living with a heart and eyes like that of my son. The possibilities are endless. I belong to Jesus, the King of the universe. I too am His warrior daughter. I fight for love, and for daily courage, for my soul and the souls of others. I need his super strength because I can not do this on my own. I have the power to affect a life , the power of gratitude, the power of faith, the power of His freedom and the power of His love~ #therealSUPERPOWERS!
